Nonna and Graciella

This work was commissioned by another artist and dear friend, Catena Cristina. 

It captures the relationship between the two, walking hand-in-hand down that rustic village path and we see such tenderness in their connection.

The scene itself with it’s textural old buildings and golden, sunlit quality gives it a nostalgic, almost dreamlike atmosphere that perfectly suits a painting about heritage and family connection.

The contrast between the woman in black and the child in the colorful floral dress adds visual interest while keeping the focus on their journey together. It invites the viewer to walk alongside them, sharing in this moment of discovery and connection to their roots.

This work is a celebration of heritage, family bonds, and the magic of discovering  where we come from.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
